How to troubleshoot screw press dewatering machine
Mar 26, 2025
Screw press dewatering machine may have various faults during operation. Timely troubleshooting and solving faults are crucial to ensure the normal operation of the equipment. The following are the troubleshooting methods for common faults.
1. Poor dehydration effect
If the moisture content of the material is still high after dehydration, first check whether the feed amount is too large. Excessive feed will prevent the machine from fully squeezing, which can be improved by adjusting the feed device and controlling the appropriate feed amount. Secondly, check whether the filter is blocked. The blockage of the filter will hinder the discharge of water, and the filter needs to be cleaned or replaced in time. In addition, the wear of the screw shaft may also cause the dehydration effect to deteriorate. The screw shaft cannot effectively squeeze the material after wear. Check the wear of the screw shaft and repair or replace it if necessary.
2. Abnormal machine noise
When the machine makes abnormal noise, first check whether the connecting bolts of each component are loose. Loose bolts will cause vibration and noise when the components are running, and the bolts should be tightened in time. Then check whether the bearing is damaged. Damaged bearings will make sharp noises and need to be replaced with new bearings. The friction between the screw shaft and the inner wall of the casing may also cause noise. Check whether the installation position of the screw shaft is correct. If there is any deviation, readjust it.

3. Motor overload
The motor overload may be caused by the excessive viscosity of the material, which increases the resistance of the machine operation. You can try to pre-treat the material to reduce the viscosity. In addition, too tight transmission parts such as chains and belts will also cause motor overload, and the tightness of the transmission parts needs to be adjusted. At the same time, check whether the motor itself has any faults, such as winding short circuit, etc. If the motor fails, it needs professional repair or replacement.
4. Poor discharge
Poor discharge may be caused by blockage of the discharge port, and the material accumulated at the discharge port needs to be cleaned. The failure of the screw conveyor can also cause poor discharge. Check whether the screw conveyor blades are damaged or deformed. If there is any problem, repair or replace it in time. In addition, the agglomeration of materials in the machine will also affect the discharge, which can be prevented by adjusting the humidity of the material.
