Improved working efficiency of sludge dewatering screw press
Jun 19, 2024
1. Equipment factors
Screw shaft design:
Parameters such as the pitch, diameter and length of the screw shaft will affect the processing capacity of the dewatering machine. Larger pitch and diameter can increase the sludge delivery volume, while the appropriate length can ensure that the sludge has enough time to be squeezed and dehydrated during the dewatering process.
For example, a screw shaft with a larger pitch can push the sludge forward faster and improve the processing efficiency; but too large a pitch may cause the squeezing effect to decrease, affecting the dewatering effect.
Filter mesh aperture and material:
The aperture of the filter determines the filtration speed of water and the degree of sludge dehydration. Smaller apertures can better intercept solid particles and improve the dehydration effect, but may reduce the filtration speed and affect the processing efficiency.
The material of the filter will also affect its durability and filtration performance. For example, stainless steel filters have better corrosion resistance and wear resistance, but the price is relatively high.
Driver power:
The power of the drive directly affects the rotation speed and torque of the screw shaft. A more powerful drive can provide higher speed and greater torque, thereby improving the processing capacity of the dewatering machine.
However, excessive power will also increase energy consumption and equipment costs. Therefore, it is necessary to select a drive device with appropriate power according to the actual processing needs.
2. Sludge property factors
Sludge moisture content:
The higher the moisture content of the initial sludge, the more water the dewatering machine needs to remove, and the more difficult it is to process. A higher moisture content will reduce the working efficiency of the dewatering machine.
For example, sludge with a moisture content of 98% requires more energy and time to dewater than sludge with a moisture content of 95%.
Sludge viscosity:
The viscosity of the sludge will affect its fluidity and extrusion effect in the dewatering machine. Sludge with high viscosity tends to adhere to the screw shaft and filter screen, causing blockage and reducing treatment efficiency.
Sludge viscosity can be reduced by adding flocculants and other methods to improve the working efficiency of the dewatering machine.
Sludge particle size:
The size of the sludge particles will affect the filtration speed and extrusion effect of water. Smaller particles tend to clog the filter screen and reduce the filtration speed; while larger particles may affect the extrusion effect of the screw shaft.
Pre-treatment of sludge, such as screening and crushing, can improve the distribution of sludge particle size and improve the working efficiency of the dewatering machine.
3. Operating conditions and factors
Feeding speed:
Feeding too fast may cause the dewatering machine to overload, affecting the treatment effect and equipment life; feeding too slow will reduce the processing capacity of the equipment.
It is necessary to reasonably adjust the feeding speed according to the processing capacity of the dewatering machine and the nature of the sludge to ensure that the equipment operates in the best condition.
Extrusion pressure:
Properly increasing the extrusion pressure can improve the dehydration effect, but too high pressure may damage the equipment or cause sludge blockage.
By adjusting the speed, pitch and other parameters of the screw shaft, the extrusion pressure can be controlled to improve the working efficiency of the dewatering machine.
Cleaning and maintenance:
Regular cleaning and maintenance of the dewatering machine can keep the equipment in good operating condition and improve working efficiency. Cleaning the filter, screw shaft and other components, removing blockages and dirt, can ensure the smooth filtration of water and the normal transportation of sludge.
At the same time, timely replacement of worn parts such as filters and screw shafts can extend the service life of the equipment and improve processing efficiency.
