The debugging of the MBBR sewage treatment plant mainly includes the following key steps:
1. Equipment inspection and preparation
All equipment in the sewage treatment plant, such as the aeration system, water pump, agitator, etc., are fully inspected to ensure their normal operation. At the same time, clean up the debris in the reactor and check whether the pipe connection is tight to avoid water leakage and air leakage. Prepare enough biological fillers and clean them for use.
2. Water injection and filler addition
Inject clean water into the reactor, and check the water level and water flow to ensure that there is no water leakage. Then, according to the design requirements, add an appropriate amount of biological filler to the reactor. The amount of filler added is usually determined according to the volume and design load of the reactor, and the general filling rate is about 30% - 70%.
3. Microbial inoculation
Select a suitable microbial inoculation source, such as activated sludge from urban sewage treatment plants or mature biofilms from other similar sewage treatment plants. Put the inoculated sludge into the MBBR reactor, and the inoculation amount is generally 10% - 20% of the reactor volume. After inoculation, turn on the aeration system and stirring equipment to fully mix the sludge and sewage to promote the attachment of microorganisms to the surface of the filler.

4. Adjustment of aeration and stirring parameters
Adjust the aeration intensity and stirring speed according to the growth requirements of the microorganisms and the operation of the reactor. In the early stage of commissioning, the aeration intensity should not be too large to prevent the biofilm from falling off; as the growth and attachment of the microorganisms gradually stabilize, the aeration intensity can be appropriately increased to ensure sufficient dissolved oxygen supply. The stirring speed should be moderate, so that the filler is fully suspended, but not too violent to cause damage to the biofilm.
5. Water quality monitoring and parameter optimization
During the commissioning process, regularly monitor the water quality indicators of sewage, such as COD, ammonia nitrogen, total phosphorus, etc., and adjust the operating parameters according to the monitoring results.
Sludge discharge and return: When the amount of sludge in the reactor reaches a certain level, sludge discharge is required to maintain the stable operation of the system. At the same time, a sludge return system is set up as needed to return part of the sludge to the front end of the reactor to increase the concentration of microorganisms and the treatment effect. The amount of sludge discharge and return flow should be adjusted according to the actual operation conditions to avoid adverse effects on the treatment effect.
