How to install wastewater screens for MBBR system
Jun 07, 2025
The correct installation of wastewater screens for the MBBR system is crucial to its stable operation. It can be carried out in an orderly manner according to the following steps:
1. Preparation before installation
Carefully check the equipment list to confirm that the wastewater screen and supporting parts are complete and undamaged; clean the installation site to ensure that the site is flat and free of debris, providing a safe and tidy environment for installation work; check whether the size, levelness, and strength of the installation foundation meet the design requirements. If the foundation does not meet the standards, it will affect the stability of the screen operation.
2. Foundation fixation
Place the base or bracket of the wastewater screen on the pre-processed foundation, use a level to calibrate it, and ensure that the screen is in a horizontal state; firmly connect the base or bracket to the foundation through anchor bolts, and tighten the bolts symmetrically to ensure uniform force and prevent the screen from tilting.
3. Installation of the main body of the screen
According to the installation instructions, assemble the main parts of the screen in sequence. During the assembly process, strictly control the connection accuracy of each part to ensure the stability of the screen frame structure; for screens with transmission devices, such as drum screens, accurately install drum bearings, transmission shafts, and other parts, and ensure that they rotate flexibly to avoid jamming.

4. Installation of the transmission system
Install transmission parts such as motors, pulleys, belts, or chains, and adjust the tightness of the transmission device to make it in a suitable state; after installation, manually turn the transmission parts to check whether the screen runs smoothly and whether there is any abnormal friction or collision sound.
5. Connection of the electrical system
Connect the electrical circuit of the wastewater screen, including the motor power line, control signal line, etc.; during the connection process, strictly follow the electrical safety specifications to ensure that the line connection is correct and firm to avoid safety hazards such as short circuits and leakage; after installation, test the electrical system to check whether the motor direction is correct and whether the control system can operate the screen start and stop normally.
6. Debugging and inspection
After installation, debug the wastewater screen without load, observe its operating status, and check whether each component is operating normally; debug under load, slowly pass a small amount of wastewater, observe the screening effect, water flow capacity, and whether there is blockage; conduct a comprehensive inspection of the entire installation process to ensure that all components are installed in place, connected firmly, and there are no omissions or errors.
